The TPI Association (Totally and Permanently Disabled Soldiers Association of Victoria) and author Michael C. Madden, are working on a book and video series called, The Victoria Cross, Australia Remembers. All profits from the sale of this full colour, coffee table book, will go to the TPI Association. Even the publisher, Big Sky Publishing, will be producing this book at cost to help the diggers.

The book is focusing, not so much on the extraordinary gallantry of these men, but rather on how the award affected them, their families and even their communities. The Victoria Cross, Australia Remembers, will not be a list of battlefield actions and citations, but will contain human stories about the men, the award itself and the legends that surround them, as told by the families. We are using TPI Diggers to help make the book where we can.

We have so far interviewed Keith Payne VC AM, Doug Baird, Rob Kenna (son of Edward Kenna VC), George Wheatley (son of Dasher Wheatley VC), Rowan Borella (son of Albert Borella VC MM) and many other remarkable people. I also have many interviews lined up with numerus family members and friends of those VCs who have passed.

We are travelling to Gallipoli and England soon, where we will be doing interviews at Hancocks in London, the VC Association and we now have permission to enter the army base, DSDC Donnington, in Telford, Shropshire, where I have been cleared to enter the vault and film the lump of metal there, which all VCs are made from.

By pre-ordering this book now, you can be assured that your money will go directly to the TPI Association, not the publishers, and will help those Totally and Permanently Disabled Soldiers who need it the most. We expect this book to be available March - April 2018, so patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.
